Our Beginning Story

Mission Wings International, Inc. was founded in September 2018, but the vision began years earlier.

In 2010, founder Shane Cooper began sensing a call to mission aviation. Though he cared deeply about aviation ministry, he did not feel led to serve through an existing mission aviation organization. For several years, he continued praying, waiting, and seeking how that burden should take shape.

Over time, that vision became clearer through annual trips to Honduras with his wife, Ana. As they spent time in the country, Shane saw the medical, humanitarian, and ministry needs facing communities in western Honduras — needs made even more difficult by mountainous terrain, limited local resources, and long travel times to advanced care.

Out of that burden, Mission Wings was born.

Today, Mission Wings is building an aviation-supported ministry to serve medical, humanitarian, missionary, disaster response, and Gospel outreach needs. What began as a calling has grown into a developing ministry with a restored aircraft, a growing support base, and a clear mission: to bring help, hope, and the Gospel to people in hard-to-reach places.

Serving People. Sharing Christ. Extending Mercy.

Our Mission

Mission Wings exists to bring help, hope, and the Gospel to people facing urgent needs in hard-to-reach places.

In western Honduras, many families live hours away from advanced medical care. Mountain roads, limited local resources, and difficult travel can turn a medical emergency into a life-threatening crisis. Through aviation, Mission Wings is working to help bridge that gap — connecting people with medical care, supporting humanitarian needs, assisting in disaster response, and serving missionaries, churches, and organizations advancing God’s Kingdom.

Our mission is not only to meet physical needs, but to point people to the ultimate hope found in Jesus Christ. Every flight, every act of service, and every response to need is an opportunity to show His love in a practical and compassionate way.
